E-library

Nainen lukee mobiililaitteella tekstiä.

The national E-Library will be launched in all municipalities served by Lumme Libraries on April 23, 2024. E-library is a shared service for municipalities, produced by the National Library of Finland in cooperation with public libraries.

E-library contains e-books, audiobooks and digital journals in Finnish, Swedish and English. Some material is also available in other languages. However, not all content may be available when the service is launched.

Please note that the service will be available starting from April 23, 2024. Detailed instructions for using the E-Library will be provided upon its launch.

To access the E-Library, users can use the E-Library app, which can be downloaded from app stores onto mobile phones or tablets. Currently, it is not available for use on computers.

Using the service does not require a library card; registration is done through strong authentication.

If strong authentication is not possible, library staff can assist with registering the app. For registration, you’ll need an ID card and a functional email address.

Children under 13 years of age will need parental consent to register for the service.

The new e-Library replaces Lumme- libraries’ existing Ellibs e-book service and the ePress service for remotely accessible periodicals.
