Lumme Online Library has now launched a library savings calculator that allows customers to estimate the amount of money they have saved by using the library. At the same time, you can learn about the positive environmental impact of using the library.
Using the library is an easy and everyday environmental activity that saves not only money but also nature. The more and more you use the library, the more money you save. For example, if you borrow two books a month from the library and attend events from time to time, you can save an estimated 74€ a month. On an annual basis, that’s a saving of almost 900€. The same amount could be used to go to a concert or a restaurant every month, or to invest in a climate-friendly bicycle.
The calculator also tells you how much you can reduce your carbon footprint by using the library. At the moment, the calculator only calculates the reduction for books, but the actual figure increases the more and more you use the library. In particular, you can save money and the environment by borrowing items from the library in addition to books, or by using the library’s shared equipment instead of buying everything yourself.
